Your AI that doesn't just remind you — it follows through

An open-source framework for building an AI companion that manages your daily tasks, escalates when things slip, and handles the stuff you keep putting off.

⚠️ ExecFunc is a personal operations and task-management framework. It is not designed or intended as a tool for executive dysfunction, ADHD support, mental health, or clinical use. It does not diagnose, treat, or monitor any condition.

A real interaction flow

Your AI learns your schedule, your patterns, and your priorities — then actually does something about them.

8:00 AM
Good morning. You have 3 things today: dentist at 2pm, pharmacy pickup, and that insurance email you've been putting off for 6 days. Energy check — how are you feeling?

8:01 AM
Got it. I'd skip the insurance email today and handle the two time-bound things. Want me to set a reminder for the dentist at 1:15 so you have time to get ready?
1:15 PM
Dentist in 45 minutes. Keys, wallet, insurance card.
👍 Got it ⏰ Snooze 🔕 Stop
1:50 PM · No response
Hey — dentist is at 2. You haven't acknowledged yet. Want me to check if they can push it 15 minutes?

Support-person escalation

For tasks you mark as critical, the escalation chain can optionally reach out to a designated support person — a partner, friend, or family member — if you're not responding. Fully user-controlled, blockable at any time, with pre-notification before any outreach. This feature is in development and will be available for consenting adults only.

Task management tools don't work for the people
who need them most

The cruelest irony in productivity: most tools become another thing to manage. Another app to open. Another system to maintain.

50%

Never come back

Half of all users never open a reminder app twice. The category keeps asking people to manage one more system instead of removing work.

3%

30-day retention

Most productivity and wellness apps lose 97% of users within a month. Notifications get swiped away. Apps get forgotten.

47

Systems tried

Todoist, Apple Reminders, Notion, sticky notes, whiteboards, bullet journals... and 42 other "this time it'll stick" approaches. None stuck.

A framework, not another app

ExecFunc is a set of skills and design principles for OpenClaw. You bring your own AI, your own messaging app, your own integrations.

🧠

AI Companion With Memory

Not a faceless notification system. A persistent AI that remembers your patterns, preferences, and priorities across sessions. One personality, one relationship.

📈

Escalating Reminders

Gentle text → firmer nudge → direct message with options. Each level is user-configured and can be disabled. Because sometimes you need more than one notification.

📋

Morning Briefings

Wake up to a personalized summary: your calendar, pending tasks, conflicts detected, and a realistic assessment of your day. No fluff, just what matters.

Friction Reduction

Your AI handles the overhead — scheduling conflicts, administrative pile-ups, the insurance email you've been avoiding for a week. Less friction between intention and action.

🔒

Anti-Capture by Design

Proactive message volume caps, no engagement optimization, no dark patterns. The goal is better functioning — not dependency, not habit formation, not "engagement."

🔧

Self-Hosted & Private

Your data stays on your hardware. No cloud accounts, no telemetry, no third-party data sharing. MIT licensed. Fork it, modify it, make it yours.

Not another reminder app

Every other app

  • Sends a notification you swipe away
  • Passive — waits for you to engage
  • Generic reminders, no personality
  • Gives up after one attempt
  • Designed for engagement metrics
  • Your data on someone else's server

ExecFunc

  • Escalates until the task gets done
  • Proactive — reaches out to you
  • Personalized AI with memory and context
  • Configurable multi-level follow-up
  • Designed to be useful, not addictive
  • Self-hosted — your data, your hardware

Built in the open. Run on your terms.

Built by a family, for families

This started as a startup business plan. After rigorous adversarial review and honest self-assessment, the founder — a practicing health care provider with a family — realized the right move was to build it for his own family first, prove it works, and share it with anyone who wants it.

We're testing every feature in a real household before publishing anything. The design documents are available now. Skills and code are rolling out as they're validated.

The startup option isn't closed. But the evidence needs to come first. We believe that's how software for people who are struggling should be built — carefully, honestly, and with the people it's for.
